Hello and thanks for stopping by - I hope you enjoy my teaching style and the prose/writing as you read and (hopefully) learn from the following Discussion/Post/Mini-Class.
B4 we get started - a word from our sponsors: Please accept my apologies and don't be upset with me if you have already come across (the majority of) this post as a reply to another writers discussion or topic. I do it for both 'marketing purpose' (Guess where you can learn more about that! LOL WINK!!! WINK!!! ... UH - The 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse?!?!!!!) I also do it so that more viewers will get a chance at (perhaps) learning a 'little something' that will assist them in their writing endeavors.
I hope the following post is HELPFUL, ENLIGHTENING and MEMORABLE to at least some of those who read it. - Enjoy!
Christine (grandmacurrie)
I have done several eBooks, and I have a background that includes sales and marketing (My fresh-out-of-high-school' first job which went well down the path of becoming my 'first career' was with a large marketing and PR firm.) Due to health issues and a subsequent change of direction, marketing took a back seat to first, caring for myself and later, teaching others how to best take care of themselves.
When I finally decided to give in and follow my heart into a writing career, I quickly realized that in order to make it in this industry, the majority of us have to be very willing and more than a ‘bit’ savvy when it comes to marketing and advertising.
Here are the three steps that I recommend you do. – [To Learn more “Insider Secrets”, a great place to start would be my 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse.Read on to find out how to reserve your seat!]
1. Make a 'hard-copy'. Something that you can show/hand to people - then DO it! eBooks are still on the edge so to speak. Most people who will PROMOTE (and will hopefully BUY/DISTRIBUTE) your eBook will have their appetite more easily whetted by seeing the real-world product – just a glimpse while you give them your ONE MINUTE ‘elevator speech’.
2. Make/Design your eBooks calling card (or order them from someplace like VistaPrint.com. (A great bunch of people with TERRIFIC Prices and IMPECABLE Service.) Notice that I did not call this your ‘business’ card – these are two related but distinctly separate things, and each has their own keys and secrets for success.
Now a word from our sponsor ...
We will be covering 'Your Book's/eBooks Calling Card vs your Business Card' in my 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse - if you are interested in taking the 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse please let me know and I will let you know when it will start. TO GET YOUR SEAT- just let me know in your reply to this or any of MY Discussions _I will NOT be going through all the replies where I have posted info on the eCourse to find sign-ups. Sorry - but you will have to do what you can to make sure that we get YOUR seat reserved. I will also be posting a syllabus in the upcoming week (or sooner). This will be posted as a New Discussion, and it might be a good idea to DROP BYand Make SURE that YOUR SEAT has been reserved. My momma always said; "MEASURE Twice - CUT Once")
WE WILL NOW RETURN TO OUR REGULARILY SCHEDULED PROGRAM (However, as good salesmen, we make no apologies for the 'interruption')
3. Next comes, what I like to call the “Well, well, well” Step. I call it that for some pretty obvious reasons. What you have to do now is get WELL groomed /WELL dressed, WELL rehearsed and WELL rested, because you are going to be going out-on-the-town – not spending money on a good time (thought this can be a LOT of fun), but getting the word out about your book/eBook.
And please remember me whenever you hear a phrase that goes something like this: “Well, well! Who’d a guessed it? I’ve been wondering what you’ve been doing with yourself …” or “Well, that’s wonderful!” or “Well, Good Luck with the book!”
NOTE(s)/BONUS Tips & Secrets:
BONUS Tip #1:
WHENEVER I come across a topic that is covered in my 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse I TELL people that we will be addressing those issues in the eCourse (or in whatever the case may be - eBook, Book, Seminar, Class, Teleseminar or Tele-Class session etc. That’s called marketing, and it is something that EVERY writer NEEDS to DO (at least till he/she can afford to hire someone else to do it for them. LOL)
BONUS Tip #2:The majority of your readers will need to hear THROUGH WORD OF MOUTH that the book is indeed online and available. But more importantly, the words that are first planted should be the ones you want to have associated with your work. In order to accomplish that, you MUST understand that the first words MUST come from YOUR MOUTH. This is your chance to ‘put a spin’ on it, your chance to ‘Build the Buzz’ your chance to ‘Sell the Sizzle’ BEFORE you ‘sell’ the steak. (Have you ever been in a restaurant where the MENU makes your taste buds cry out for something? That’s selling the sizzle!!! And you can learn TONS of ways to do it EFFECTIVELY in … I betch’ya guessed it! … My 15Day FREE Writing eCourse!
Don't you just LOVE Bonuses??? I love getting them, but I love GIVING them even more!!! There are plans for over 20 (YES! You are seeing that right - it is NOT A TYPO - we are planning for at least 20 Bonus Tips and Insider Secrets in my 15 Day FREE Writing eCourse!!! And that's on top of all the other great information! - Hope to see you there!

I'm going to give you an A for effort. But honestly...are you serious? How many "real" books have you published?
E-books...I have have mixed feeling about these. I do sell all my "real" books as ebooks as well. But there's not much of a market for them. Yes you can sell ebooks and make money because there is no production cost. But I think no matter how far advanced technolgy gets people will always want to read a a book that feels and smells like paper.
Ebooks make it easy for any no-talent hack wanna-be writer to see his/her words in print. That does not make him a writer.
Also I don't know you well enough to insult you...but your shameless self promotion is embarrassing. You need to establish yourself as a writer before you try to teach others how to write. Just my opinion.
