I am not a significantly published author YET, but do intend to become one as I explore more and more of my love of reading and writing. I have been working on my manuscript, "Perspective 101" in my spare time HAHA ;) for 8 years, and it is very near completion. The project (driving life-mission) started as my own need to get information about the subject of, "drawing in perspective correctly" for my own art career became painfully apparent. Intensive research has revealed that many confusing and partial references on the subject exist. So, I have decided to resolve that by created my own teaching reference book on the subject, focused on presenting a visual subject in a visual manner. You can see an example lesson from the text on the internet at; www.valeriewoelk.com or follow the BLOG links from www.shapelyforms.com
Now, I need to figure out how to market this book, as a high school or college level course/reference material or individual lessons downloadable on the internet. Are there any suggestions from the peanut gallery?, I appreciate your posts that I have had time to read. THX
There are many avenues that can be taken. One would be to do an internet search. I personally prefer a hard copy and use the Writer's Market, which most libraries carry in the reference section or you can purchase from writersdigest.com. You can also find copies for sale on eBay.
If you wish to sell on the internet, there are some sites that will make your book available using both eBook and hardcopy formats. I believe there are a couple mentioned on this board in previous threads.
In what ever way you find suits your needs I wish you success.
I would suggest the book A Book is Born; 24 authors tell all. It guides you through the whole publishing process, beginning to end. Lots of great marketing tips as well!
