Would someone please say some inspiring words, or wave a magic wand, to help me find the motivation to get off the couch and start practicing yoga again?!?! I need an intervention! I love yoga when I do it. I have a lovely, brand new yoga mat that my husband gave me for my birthday, that is sitting dusty and rolled up behind a door in my baby's room. Yep, I had a baby in March and he does "help" me to get out and do some things to get back in shape. We go for walks. But I really need yoga to "put things back where they used to be" - if you know what I mean! I think I know what the problem is - in fact, I'm pretty sure I've pinpointed it: I hate to exercise. I just don't have that drive. But every few months I do find the wherewithall to exercise diligently for a few weeks - then I poop out. I really need a kickstart right now so any words of wisdom that my fellow bloggers could impart will be appreciated! Namaste
Hello, I can understand at times, when you just don't want to. Do not have to go into details about the benefits, etc. Just think of the benefits that you will get as each day you exercise. When I started many moons ago, I broke the segements down into small little pieces. When you hear of working out for 40 minutes, you think no no no......Then break it down to 20 minutes. After the 20 minutes take a sip of water and breathe deep and go into another set of 20 minutes. Soon it will be 40 minutes or whatever time you are working into is done. try it it does work.
