fake zippos ?

Maybe i,m wrong but i found this web sight that tells about (fake) Zippos.. does any one know if maybe salers are running theses fakes through and we are bye them and not knowing it? .....thanks .Dave ...web sight http://freespace.virgin.net/monster.ninja/rippos_not_zippos.htm

Alot of Rippos get caught by Zippo legal and pulled off EBay before the auction ends but those are only ones people, mostly members of the Zippo Click, catch and report to Zippo. You would be surprised how many of them are caught. Some are really good copies that even fool collectors while others are blatant bad rip offs with mispellings, like Radford instead of Bradford. If in doubt, write to the seller and ask for pictures of the open lighter and insert. If they give you a run around thats a bad sign, if they send pics look for misspellings, rivets made out the wrong metal, sloppy art work, etc. There are many good rippo v Zippo websites out there to check out and see what to check for. There are a couple of videos on Youtube about counterfeit Zippos. One was made by a user called Cutlerylover. Just type in "fake zippos".

hello
I am very against fake zippos I have ran against 3 so far
and took a hammer to it, they are usually made in
china and they are real close to real zippo so
please check all your zippos.
